Ronnie Moreland was born in Dayton, Ohio. He attended Dayton Public Schools and graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1977. Soon after graduation, Ronnie joined the United States Air Force where he worked primarily as a staff support administration specialist with the 405th Tactical Training Wing, Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona from September 1978 to August 1986. He received an honorable discharge as a decorated Sergeant and returned home to Dayton, Ohio where he resumed his civilian career working as a laborer with the City of Dayton, Ohio for over 10 years.
After his public service career ended abruptly due to injury, Ronnie began working part time with various organizations as an active disabled veteran. Ronnie has worked to gain his collegiate education as a graduate of Sinclair Community College (2013/Associate of Arts in Communication), Wright State University (2015/Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a Minor in Marketing Management), and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Wright State University.
He has been the recipient of several community and educational awards in recent years. Ronnie considers his most rewarding duty is serving as Deacon at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained in 2007.
